William is passionate about passing on the expertise he has received from many brilliant and esteemed teachers over the course of his career development, so he maintains a few private students of all ages and experience levels. Following a background in choral music at Gloucester Cathedral, Cambridge University, and many of the world's most renowned choirs and then solo studies at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and the Opera Course at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, he is well-placed to help amateur and young professional singers to achieve a range of goals.
He regularly coaches the National Youth Choirs of Great Britain and teaches young people aged between 10 and 18 in three of the UK's leading music departments at Highgate School, Whitgift School and Hutcheson's Grammar School. His performing experience, from The Sixteen to the Garsington Opera, and range of academic expertise, from Lady Gaga's claims on postmodernism to Palestrina counterpoint, make him an excellent mentor to guide and inspire adults and children alike. Although in-person lessons are preferable, online tuition is deliverable over Zoom, Skype or FaceTime and you are welcome to get in contact to arrange a free consultation lesson.
